Third graders are studying spiders, webs, and the many folktales around these, so for their first art project, they used lengths of string dipped in single colors to create paintings inspired by 1950s action painters such as Jackson Pollack, Lee Krasner, Grace Hartigan, Franz Kline, and Joan Mitchell. Come check them out in the upstairs hallway; it's exciting to see how different each composition came out!
