The art room is painted, cleaned, and fully supplied. It is ready for students and many exciting art projects. This year our whole school study of India will include art projects throughout the grades. Fifth and Sixth graders will take part in French and Spanish castle building for language week in November. New in the art room is a document camera and mounted overhead projector to facilitate easy sharing of student artwork and viewing of art slides. Finally we have received a $2500 grant from the Emily Mason and Wolf Kahn Foundation to support visual arts at our school. This will mean one or more visiting artists and another permanent sculpture piece for our sculpture walk on campus. Please stop by the art room to say hello and see what we are working on. Any small toys, junk, or multiples of items that could be used for art are always welcome donations. I am looking forward to a great year in art!
